In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the official announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of forbidden practices and terrifying changes reverberate through the shadows." The plot introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden group.

The mission focuses on "bizarre tests and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Changes

The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Extra Content

Players who finish the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to numerous objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Newest Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery."
