Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, launched the inaugural episode of her online program with a promise to unmask "malicious actors" working to bring down Britain, the US and Europe. Truss elaborated she would reveal how an "global web of progressives operate to subvert popular rule and the public's choice."

"We will examine the political movement of Donald Trump and understand how this can be replicated in Britain," the former PM stated. "We will interview the prominent voices of the Make America Great Again campaign."

In advance of the program's debut, there was one particularly enthusiastic supporter. "This represents the dawn of a type of political shift," stated veteran reporter John Solomon. The right-leaning Just the News will carry the Truss's new broadcasts.

Building Connections in the Maga Media Ecosystem

UK-based allies, including a pro-Reform adviser, assisted in her set up the her new show. Its staging is adequate, if somewhat rudimentary. She has gathered ten thousand followers in her debut week and her debut had tens of thousands of views during that week.

This marks a modest start, but in making common cause with Solomon, Truss is being entering a established political media sphere creating and spreading Make America Great Again themes. Central preoccupations include alleged censorship by the mainstream media and a goal to dismantle a conspiratorial 'deep state' – which Truss blames for the abrupt termination of her short and troubled leadership.

"Solomon's outlet is not well-known past the Maga world, but it does have credibility there, largely because of John Solomon, who gives commentary on conservative outlets like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even questioned the former president," commented Alex Hinton, who has extensively researched the Trumpist political wave.

A Contentious Ally

The former PM's foray to bring American conservative media to the UK has drawn her nearer to contentious individuals such as the journalist.

He set up Just the News in the wake of scrutiny following accusations of circulating inaccurate reports about Biden's anti-corruption work in the Eastern European nation, as well as controversial stories about ex-ambassador to that country.

His claims were repeated within the pro-Trump media, with Solomon appearing as a regular guest on the prominent Fox News program. Trump himself boosted Solomon's reporting.

Solomon made the Ukraine claims in a series of columns for the political newspaper the political newspaper, after having been moved to a columnist role when staffers raised concerns over his articles. His narratives were central in the then-president's request for the officials in Kyiv to investigate the Bidens in that year. This pressure resulted in impeachment charges against Trump. Senators later acquitted the commander-in-chief.

Not long after the journalist departed the Hill in late 2019, the publication stated it was conducting a review of his columns about the Ukraine issue. It determined Solomon had relied on questionable informants and noted he "did not disclose key facts about key Ukrainian sources, including the detail that they had been charged or were being probed."

Becoming Part of the Sphere

Solomon's own TV and radio guest spots are a example of the right-wing media network Liz Truss is joining. He talked about his support for her new show on a show he co-hosts on Real America's Voice, a rightwing cable channel that is home to the conservative firebrand former adviser Steve Bannon and on which Tucker Carlson also is seen. She has already hosted the political operative on one of her first podcasts.

In linking up with the journalist and his outlet, she has become a small part in a broader ecosystem of conservative media outlets that often cross-promote stories.

His personal broadcasts have repeatedly hosted personalities such as Mike Benz, a political voice whose arguments against USAID was used by the tech billionaire as grounds for shutting down the government body.

A Global Media Play

Even though Truss's stilted style and career difficulties have invited ridicule within the UK, certain American analysts do not dismiss her efforts to revamp her image as a UK offshoot of the pro-Trump media ecosystem.

"One must regard individuals such as her as significant, despite the fact that you may not want to accept their words at face value," said Rob Flaherty, who served in the Obama White House.

"It was evident how in 2024 the former president utilized that alternative press to get his message out. Without a doubt that ecosystem spreads and shapes debate overseas. It seems relatively clear to me that the circumstances in the United Kingdom are akin to what enabled this alternative media ecosystem to thrive in America."

a political theory expert, said the digital right-wing media sphere was already having an impact in Britain.

"Online platforms knows no borders," he said. "There's a kind environment within which stuff flows – sometimes appearing in harsh versions and occasionally in softer tones – but which is interlinked."

Hinton said the expansion of the internet-based right wing in the UK recently meant the "chance to have a larger effect is substantial."

A Transatlantic Ambition
